flight+paths

flight+PATHS is an installation by The AjA Project, a nonprofit that uses participatory photography programs to transform communities. AjA worked with participants to create self portraits, each sharing a story of immigration or resettlement in San Diego. The resulting mural and the collection of personal objects on view showcase the hope, strength, and resiliency of San Diego’s immigrant and refugee communities.

Across the sessions I sat in the room while the photoshoots happened, listening to the conversations, connecting the portraits across the mural through the stories we share.
